Another week has gone by, my where has the time gone! It seems like we just dropped Elder Haynie off at the MTC a couple days ago. But, its actually been almost 5 weeks now. My how time flies!
We received an email from Matthew yesterday. He absolutely loves his mission!
Last Monday Matthew told us of a baptism they were going to be having on Wednesday. Since then, the baptism went on and was a great experience for him. He talks of the whole room being full of people for this girl and how much he loves their family. I truly believe that this event will be one Matthew will never forget.
We received pictures this week! They are so cool. Most of them were from the MTC but a couple of them are with his Companion now. They look great. We will post some on here for all of you to see soon.
Matthew has a friend who received his Mission call this week, Josh Stedeford. Josh will be going to Honduras in August. Good Luck Josh! There is a favorite saying Matthew has that he wanted us to relay to Josh, and it is "They send boys on foreign missions to become men, and they send men to state missions to become leaders." I think they will both be great leaders.
Another thing Matthew talked about was Conference. He loved conference. His favorite talk was by President Eyring about the "Man Down" and the soldiers. His exact words were " it was so POWERFUL". Its good to hear him talk about the talks and how it left such a positive impression with him.
Well, it is Easter week. We will be sending Matthew and Elder Curtis Easter baskets and a ton of stuff. We will miss him being here with us but, we know he is doing the Lords work and he is exactly where he needs to be!
Til then, We love you Matthew!
